BSE3D attends official opening of Kerb, Thomas Neal’s Yard in London’s historic West End.

The historic warehouse has been transformed into a highly sophisticated dining area. Our innovative design has allowed the old building to keep it’s historic character but still integrating a contemporary / modern image, carefully giving a pleasant, fresh and stylish place for all workers and visitors.

This has an alluring feel and is set to become a vibrant social scene, with the highest quality street food London has to offer, featuring masterchef winners and the best up and coming talent in the London food scene.

By working alongside Kerb and their architects BSE 3D have been instrumental in assisting them to bring their first indoor venture to life.

Sydenhams Timber Yard Project

As part of the consultancy design group, BSE3D were instructed to complete an Energy and Sustainability feasibility study and Building Services Engineering design for this mixed-use development within Poole Harbour.

The scheme looked to utilise the sea water for the heat source as part of an open loop water source heat pump, district heating and cooling solution.

Due to it’s unique harbour location and year around near constant water temperature, the site was ideal for the deployment of this solution.

Construction across 8 buildings, 13 storeys above ground and 1 below the ground. The features include over 350 domestic dwellings and a variety of commercial units for restaurants, pubs, office and retail stores and marina. The project is already underway with completion due, ending in February 2024.

STEM Big Bang Fair – South East

The largest regional STEM event was held last week at the South of England Showground in Ardingly, West Sussex.

Held annually for 9 to 19 year olds this event provides a unique festival atmosphere for teachers and over 10,000 students across two days. They were offered experiences in:

VR and tree climbing
Meeting inspirational STEM role models, including our very own STEM Ambassador, Phil Todd Managing Director.
A chance to discuss STEM career options
Entering the UK Big Bank Competition
Attend workshops run by employers and businesses showing real life application of learning.

Science demonstation captivating it’s audience.

For the past five years Phil Todd has been part of the competition judging panel, this year judging the Junior Engineering group. This year proved hard to choose a winner from all the worthy projects entered.

The winner was Regis School with a brilliantly presented project named: “Can my hamster power a light bulb?” The runner up was PACA with: “Drones for Crocodiles”.

It’s encouraging to see so many children enthused by STEM and hopefully they’ll follow this forward in years to come.

Sally to represent Great Britain

Fabulous news! After finishing in first place at this year’s age-group cycling (time trial) qualifiers, Sally will be hoping to capitalise on that success at the 2019 Gran Fondo World championships in Poland this August representing Great Britain.

Her continued resilience and sheer determination to succeed is infectious and BSE 3D are proud to sponsor such a great role model.

In 2018 after the Glasgow qualifiers, she rightfully earned her place in the GB team. Having missed out on gold by a mere six seconds, she headed off to the South of France to compete in the world time trial Union Cyclist Internationale event having qualified as silver medallist.

Chicago hosted the 2016 world championship triathlon and again finished a fantastic fifth in the world. The European duathlon, run, bike, run was also held in 2016. Sally won her age group 35-39 resulting in fourth place at the world championships in Spain.

Taking up triathlon in 2014 Sally qualified to represent Great Britain in her age group, finishing fourth in the world in Edmonton.

Sally’s sporting achievements don’t just stop and start with cycling, running and swimming! Between the ages of 7 and 18 she represented Great Britain in tennis, played at Wimbledon as a junior and held a world ranking.

After taking a few years out to sit her A-levels and going to university she became a secondary school teacher at Warden Park Academy in West Sussex. On top of her busy schedule of teaching and cycling she enjoys down-time with the family, her husband and three children. Their latest addition to the family, a daughter, was born only a year ago.

Sally’s love for cycling is irrefutable and is a great ambassador for the sport!
