UKREiiF 2026: Reflecting on an Incredible Week in Leeds

By Karen Womack

From 19th – 21st May, alongside more than 16,000 industry professionals, we joined one of the biggest events in the built environment calendar.

Now UKREiiF comes to a close, we’ve been reflecting on a fantastic few days spent connecting with people from across the built environment sector. The energy throughout this year’s event was electric, with conversations centred around innovation, collaboration and the exciting future of the industry.

The BSE|3D team attended more than 45 fringe events and seminars throughout the conference, taking every opportunity to gain insights, strengthen relationships and stay ahead of the curve in an ever-evolving building services landscape.

A Market Full of Momentum

One of the biggest takeaways from UKREiiF this year was the clear sense of momentum across the sector.

With the Building Engineering Services Association (BESA) reporting a 16% increase in collective turnover among the UK’s largest M&E contractors, alongside continued growth driven by opportunities in data centres, decarbonisation and increasingly sophisticated building engineering, it’s clear the industry is entering an exciting new chapter.

Across every conversation, there was a shared focus on creating smarter, more connected and more sustainable places and communities. From regeneration and sustainability to the future of design and project delivery, collaboration and innovation were at the heart of every discussion.

BSE3D and Modus Hosting A Fringe Networking Breakfast

One of the highlights for the BSE|3D team was hosting a fringe networking breakfast alongside Modus.

The event created a fantastic opportunity to bring together professionals from across the industry, exchange ideas and have open conversations about the challenges and opportunities shaping the future of the built environment.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us and contributed to such valuable discussions.

The Value of Collaboration

For many of us, including those attending the fringe events for the first time, the experience was incredibly valuable.

Hearing different perspectives, building new relationships and reconnecting with familiar faces reinforced just how important collaboration is in driving meaningful progress across the industry.

UKREiiF once again demonstrated the strength, ambition and innovation that exists throughout the built environment sector and we’re excited to continue building on the conversations and connections made throughout the week.

Looking Ahead

The future of the industry is evolving rapidly, and events like UKREiiF are vital in helping businesses stay connected, informed and inspired.

At BSE|3D, we’re proud to be part of an industry that continues to push boundaries, embrace innovation and work collaboratively towards a smarter and more sustainable future.

And finally, a big thank you to the entire BSE|3D team for all your hard work throughout the week.

We’re already looking forward to next year.
