The Pavilions Site Progress

By Harriet Morphew
Existing block of flats with scaffold at high level for new dwellings-The Pavilions

Our team visited site last week to review the progress of The Pavilions, London. This collection of 10 additional flats is integrated across two storeys atop the existing Pavilions residential development. The decision to build vertically on an existing structure maximises space utilisation amid an urban environment.

Our team are working closely with the contractors and architect across the design and construction stages to meet the client’s needs. Challenges arising from the complexity of the project have seen our team propose engineering solutions to incoming services, which have limited the number of new incoming connections and associated external works, to limit disruption to existing residents. The solutions include an update to the incoming electrical infrastructure. The rearrangement to the existing infrastructure allows the 10 new consumer units to be connected without a new incoming supply. Additionally it allows space and flexibility for the existing meter arrangements should the residents want to install smart meters.
