The Knightsbridge Palace Hotel, on the site of the former Normandie Hotel in the heart of Knightsbridge provides six floors of deluxe hotel suites, and four floors of private apartments. There are six basement levels, including dining, a ballroom, offices, and two floors consisting of a gym and pool and plant room.  The hotel was adopted by Bugari in 2010.

Philip Todd and Graham Bowes were the mechanical and electrical engineers for the conceptual design of this new hotel and delivered the energy and sustainability reports that enabled planning to be successfully achieved and the development to be sold.

The concept that was successfully implemented was to integrate the heat rejection for the building into the structural piling in order to maximise accommodation space and improve overall energy efficiency.

This design was later recognised by the industry, through the CIBSE awards as an excellent example of energy efficient design.
